One of the few museums in the world dedicated to the work of a single photographer
An art museum that houses about 135,000 photographs by the famous photographer Ken Domon, who was born in Sakata City, Yamagata. Exhibits include carefully selected collections such as “A Pilgrimage to Ancient Temples ,” “Hiroshima” and “Children of Chikuho.” The powerful photographs vividly capture the feel of pre- and postwar Showa era Japan, and are sure to touch your heart profoundly.
